Denali National Park

Don’t listen to others listen to yourself

A pleasant weekend driving to Denali National Park and camping, with some delightful bike rides.  Such a treat to get on the bike, despite it being cold and windy.  the first day out we opted to ride up Sable pass an 8% grade, which developed a head wind to boot.  Had thought of progressing on to Polychrome pass but somehow seemed daunting for our group that day.

But a pleasant evening sitting around the campfire musing.

Sunday another ride back towards park entrance and I was not feeling it as have had a cold flu past week and just under the weather so I saw them off and returned to the tent and warm sleeping bag.

  1. I ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR ADVENTURES – BIKING SORT OF A PATEE HERITAGE – TIM LEAVING THE END OF THE MONTH FOR SPAIN FOR SOME BIKING EVENT – TO RETURN IN OCTOBER (I HOPE SAFE AND SOUND) AT WHICH TIME WE HOPE TO GO TO THE LAKE FOR AN EARLY THANKSGIVING WITH WHATEVER FAMILY CAN MAKE IT. ME AND BIKING? WELL I DID HAUL MY BUBBLEGUM PINK BIKE OUT OF THE GARAGE SUNDAY AND RIDE AROUND THE PARKING LOT – JUST TO SEE IF I COULD STILL DO IT. ONCE IN A WHILE I TAKE IT FOR SHORT ERRANDS BUT ACTUALLY SO FEW ERRANDS NEEDED THAT THE POOR LONESOME BIKE MOSTLY JUST SITS THERE. .. IT IS WELL AWARE THAT I NOW DO LOTS OF HUFFING AND PUFFING WHEN I VENTURE AS FAR AS UNIVERSITY. UNLESS ONE IS ON A BIKE THERE ARE NOT ANY NOTICEABLE HILLS, BUT WHILE I GLIDE DOWN SMALL DEPRESSIONS EASILY AND HAPPILY, THOSE SMALL DEPRESSIONS LOOM BREATHTAKINGLY, EXHAUSTINGLY UP UP UP RETURNING. I TELL MYSELF I WILL GET OUT OFTENER BEFORE THE SNOWS START, BUT BUT BUT….. SISSY THAT I AM, I’M STILL ALMOST CONSIDERED A WEIRD LEGEND AROUND THIS PLACE. LOVE TO YOU BOTH.
